The following statement explains the rules around consent when digitally recording a meeting.

Digital recordings of meetings

If you work for the Northern Territory Government, you must follow certain rules when recording meetings.

Before you start digitally recording a meeting, you must notify participants.

This applies to meetings held:

  • in person
  • via video conferencing – for example, Microsoft Teams
  • via other telecommunications.

You don’t need consent from participants, but you must inform them.
