The Northern Territory Government (NTG) has released its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assurance Framework (the Framework).
The Framework sets out how the NTG can harness the transformative power of AI while ensuring its responsible and ethical use for the benefit of all Territorians. AI has the power to revolutionise the lives of Territorians, impacting everything from business and health to transport, cybersecurity, and environmental management.
The accompanying Ethics Principles aim to establish clear standards for the ethical and responsible implementation of AI in government operations.
The framework also outlines a robust risk assessment process and establishes clear governance to ensure that AI is used only where there is a clear use case and potential risks can be effectively managed.
