Alison Duguid is a Chemical Engineer, born and bred in Darwin before moving to Perth in 2015 to complete her studies.

Alison is currently working at BHP in the Innovation team, using her experience to assess and accelerate sustainable, emerging technologies in the mining industry. Prior to this her work focused on alternative fuels, industry decarbonisation, alternatives for offshore decommissioning and circular economy.

Alison began her professional career in 2015 at Power and Water Corporation's wastewater treatment team. Since then Alison has worked at INPEX’s Bladin Point refinery and GHD Pty Ltd.

After graduating from the University of Western in 2019 with distinctions in her Master of Professional Engineering, Alison focused her efforts on introducing technical specialists and clients to the potential opportunities in the NT through her role with GHD in Perth.

One of Alison’s proudest professional achievements was being published in the 2022 APPEA journal on “Design for decommissioning – focusing on preventative strategies and beneficial impact assessment for managing offshore infrastructure”. This work gained attention from both state and national government bodies as well as numerous oil and gas companies.

Alison’s next career focus is to being an industry sponsored PhD, to leverage off her passion for clean alternative fuels to hydrocarbons and applying these effectively for high temperature process applications globally.
