2024 saw Digital Futures transform into an immersive and interactive experience for women young and old, incorporating not just amazing speakers but also great interactive elements in partnership with Charles Darwin University, The Array and other local businesses.

Participants took the opportunity to hear from successful and inspiring women from around the country talk about why advancing women in STEAM industries is important for the future, but also the chance to pilot a virtual star ship, design and 3D print elements and design and play digital games.

There were four amazing speakers sharing their stories, their successes, and answered attendee questions with grace and humour:

  • Dr Renee Bartolo - Landscape Ecologist, Chief Remote Drone Pilot at Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
  • Dr Aya Matsuyama and Taneille Brann from The Array - The team from The Array provided a presentation and valuable insights into the gaming industry and future pathways for students and parents in the digital and tech sectors. They also hosted interactive stations for coding, game building, and other hands-on experiences with advanced gaming technology led by experienced educators.
  • Anna Goat – Director of Rise Project Consulting, winner of the ‘Embracing Innovation’ category at the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Awards.

The talks from each of these amazing speakers are available to watch online.
