The Northern Territory Government is delivering a free Digital Futures webinar to inspire Territorians to take up careers in the IT and digital industry.
On Wednesday 25 August, Driving Digital Innovation will feature female digital innovators as they share their experiences throughout the global pandemic.
We will ask the questions; how has the COVID-19 pandemic driven female digital innovation? How has technology advanced during the pandemic and what does that mean for you? What does the digital sector look like in 2021 and how can you develop your career in this industry?
According to ACS Australia’s Digital Pulse 2021, in 2020 women made up just 29% of the technology workforce in Australia. It also found that “… to improve access to digital skills the technology sector needs to expand its talent pool and tap into underutilised talent – namely women. This will be critical to longer term industry growth.”
Better technology needs to be created by people with different experiences from all over the world and reflect society as a whole. Encouraging women into technology creates diversity of thought, leading to better problem solving, resulting in better tech products.
Digital Futures events aspire to encourage more Territory women to take up digital careers.
Join us virtually on Wednesday 25 August from 2-5pm as our speakers share their ideas and experiences, challenges and successes to bring their technology to fruition and share their unique career journeys and words of wisdom to inspire women to consider a digital career, especially focusing on the past 18 months.
