Date: 20 Aug 2021

Digital Direction: Enabling Smarter Communities

Over many years the NT Government has trialled drones for many uses -from analysis of the Territory’s natural assets to assisting the NT Police, the Northern Territory is taking advantage of this technology for the good of Territorians.

In 2021-22, NT Health is continuing its partnership with Charles Darwin University and iMove Australia to trial and research remote medicine delivery mechanisms enabled by drone technology. This would assist remote community health outcomes, including when they’re cut-off by flooded roads.

The NT is also continuing existing drone programs with natural and built assets, emergency management and is also collaborating with the emerging drone industry in the NT to seek opportunities for development and growth of the sector.
