Initiative

Plan the establishment of a Cyber Security Operations Centre to increase government's capability to detect, analyse and respond to cyber security incidents, in conjunction with service providers and external agencies.

Overview

The Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) will house the cyber security team responsible for monitoring and analysing the NT Government's networks hardware and systems on an ongoing basis using a combination of technology solutions and a strong set of operational processes.

CSOC staff will work closely with service providers, suppliers and incident response teams to ensure cyber security issues are addressed quickly upon discovery.

Benefits

The CSOC will improve cyber security incident detection through continuous monitoring and analysis of data activity.

By analysing this activity across the NT Government's networks, computers, servers, and databases around the clock, the CSOC will ensure timely detection and response of cyber security incidents.

2020 progress update

The plans for the cyber security operations centre have been completed, resources have been assigned and toolsets and procedures have been implemented to support cyber security operations.
