Improving coordination of services to remote communities

Develop a system that provides future travel information for NT Government staff to ensure coordination and awareness of the purpose and mode of travel to remote communities.

Initiative

Develop a system that provides future travel information for NT Government staff to ensure coordination and awareness of the purpose and mode of travel to remote communities.

Overview

With this system government staff will for the first time be able to identify where there are cross overs in effort, reduce unnecessary travel and improve coordination and engagement with remote communities.

Benefits

Budget savings through improved co-ordination of travel and effort while also reducing unnecessary engagement with remote Aboriginal communities and the potential of linking into BushTel to display future travel to interested stakeholders including community members.

2020 progress update

The TRIPS Dashboard has been developed and is being piloted by four Government agencies, these being the Departments of the Chief Minister; Local Government, Housing and Community Development; Health; and Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics. The system monitors future staff travel and identifies when and where staff are travelling, the mode and reason for travel.
