Improved public safety through network of high definition CCTV devices.
Overview
The NT Government has established an extensive CCTV network of 295 fixed and 20 mobile cameras across urban locations including Darwin, Parap and Casuarina over recent years.
The cameras are fitted with speakers to deliver audio messages and warnings where needed.
Benefits
CCTV is well known to provide a deterrent to crime and can assist to capture reliable evidence for some crimes.
The network of CCTV cameras provides safety benefits for the community and local businesses.
