Upgrade or install video conference services for courts in remote communities with adequate bandwidth as part of the Women's Safety Package National Partnership Agreement.

Overview

As part of the Women's Safety Package National Partnership Agreement, new or upgraded video conferencing facilities will be installed in the Yarralin and Nhulunbuy courthouses over 2019; completing a program to improve services in remote courts that have sufficient bandwidth to support these services.

Benefits

Videoconferencing for courts can reduce costs for witness and defendant transport, and make legal services more accessible for people in remote areas.

As part of Project Zola, Videoconference services are available in required remote police stations to reduce costs for witness and defendant transport, and make legal services more accessible for people in remote areas.
